Quite obviously, Beijing being the capital City of China, it has an alarming number of commutation facilities to reach ant part of the globe. Be it national transport or international transport, Beijing has all the facilities to serve the needs of the traveler as long as he is viable to travel.
Beijing airport is the biggest airport in China. To its credit, this airport has 38 major foreign airline companies, 21 domestic airlines, 1 Macao airline and 1 Hong Kong airline using the airport. This airport has acted as a major opening for all the foreign travelers to keep footage in China. Beijing capital International airport is located in north east of Beijing which is approximately 25 kilometers from the Tiananmen Square. (Centre of the city). This international airport is a centre for China aviation network. It is renowned as the busiest airport in china.
Another means of travel in china is by train. All the parts of China are very much accessible through trains. Just the idea about train timings can greatly enhance the travelers to depot to their destinations with out any delay or missing of trains. A variety of transportation is available to travel with in Beijing as well. The common transportation includes the bus, bicycle, taxi, train and subways. Transportation by bicycle and bike is a very easy and affordable way of commutation. For the travelers or the visitors, the two wheelers can be rented with some deposits made at the time of renting. The best place to rent is the bicycle shops for bike repairs where the cost will be less as compared to renting a new bike.
Sight seeing by a Pedi cab can be interesting. These can be normally found near the street corners but care has to be taken to negotiate the price with the driver. Payment is done in PMB or in Dollars. To prevent traveling in an unauthorized Pedi Cabs it is wise to check for the authorization certificate which hangs in the cab and the authorized driver is also identified by his id card.
Traveling by bus is inexpensive but is far less comfortable comparatively. The bus timings are from 5.30 AM to 23.00 PM daily. For the foreign travelers subway trains are more accommodating. The trains are generally very fast and clean as compared to others. The frequency of train is more with the price of every ticket being 3 RMB.
Traveling by taxi parallels with traveling by train but it is more comfortable in a taxi as it provides door service. For travel after 23.00 the charge is doubled. The minimum charge for the first 5 kilometers is 10 RMB and then increases by 1.2, 1.4, 2 RMB per kilometer. Communication can be a problem as most drivers do not understand English. So it is better to write the destination names in Chinese before onset.
