Beijing has a long history of wars and fight and every one assumes that its cultural aspects must have been ruined during that period of time. But this is a wrong notion; this capital city and the cultural city of china has survived the cultural aspects during the war. Still there are plenty of places that clearly shows the great art and culture of this city. There are various places like museums and some wonderful architectural places which will make the tourists aware of the great cultural legacy this city has carried from the past.

China is the most favorite destination for all those who love and appreciate the great culture and art work, modern architecture, traditional paintings, opera, embroidery and silk and many others. And being one of the most important cities in china, Beijing has a great art and culture legacy. With some of its great establishments you can have an idea about the city’s civilization.

Temples and religion- there are many temples in Beijing and they can make one aware of the development of various religions in the city of Beijing. The white cloud temple is the oldest Taoist temple in the city and was built during the Tang Dynasty and once it was the main centre for Taoist in the entire china.

Forbidden City – Chinese architecture gained the much deserved popularity by these large and beautiful clusters of great ancient buildings in the Country. It was built during the Ming dynasty from during 1406 to 1420. The main objective to build this city was to show the supremacy of the King.

Summer Palace – is situated in the north western part of the Beijing; it is a very huge park which houses some of the best Chinese arts and traditional structures. It was a royal garden under the Qing Dynasty; they were responsible for its construction. The long 700 meter corridor is most impressive and beautiful structure in the entire garden with thousands of beautiful paintings.

The Great Wall – It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it stretches from Shanhaiguan pass to Jiayuguan pass, and crosses the five provinces. It was built during the Qin Dynasty under the great Qin Shihuang. But this great structure was built by many other rulers as well contributing to the great Chinese culture.

Confucius Temple – It was built during the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the largest in China and it shows the impact of Confucius on Chinese culture.

Beijing opera – It is the most famous and popular opera style in entire china. Its history goes back to Ming Dynasty. It is derived from some great dancing styles and classical singing.

Acrobatics – it is around 2000 years old and is a mixture of some folk arts.

Beijing Traditional Cuisine – there are various delicious cuisines like Beijing Duck, Muslim barbeque and various other traditional foods.

Beijing Art Museum – it is one of the best places to gain the knowledge about the Chinese cultural heritage. It was established in the year 1995 with the main objective of saving great cultural heritage of china.

Central Academy of fine arts - Initially it was known as National Beijing school art school and it was the first art school in china. All of theses places will help us gain the insight of the great Chinese culture and arts and particularly Beijing city.
